No connection. DSL light off.

Hello all.

Arrived home this evening to find I had no internet connection. Network ok internally though.

Router had no connection though to outside world.

Upon checking openreach modem the DSL light is off.

So far I have tried - restarting modem, different DSL cable, a different faceplate, a different openreach modem.  Each time there is no sign of the DSL light, not even a flash or two.

I suspect an external issue of some kind.

Edit - question #172767371

Has anyone seen my signature, it's gone missing.

Re: No connection. DSL light off.

DSL light back on, connection seems normal.

Will see how it goes.

Line speed still below estimate though, but that is not unusual.

Re: No connection. DSL light off.

Hi there.

I can see the fault you reported to us online last night had automatically raised a fault with our suppliers, it was passed to an engineer this morning and it's still in hand with Openreach now.

Let us know how your speeds look tomorrow.

Re: No connection. DSL light off.

Looks like fault was cleared by our suppliers back to us less than an hour after my post.

Our tests are showing your speeds very slightly below your speed estimates, but aren't finding any other issues.

Due to how below the estimates they are, it's unlikely our suppliers will investigate further.

Sync Status In Sync
Downstream Speed 52.8 Mbps
Upstream Speed 14.7 Mbps

What speeds are you seeing your side?

Re: No connection. DSL light off.

Looks like your speed you're getting is about right for the speed your modem is in sync at.

If you would like us to investigate why they're below expectations I'd recommend raising a fault to us at http://faults.plus.net and we'll arrange an engineer visit to further investigate.

Feel free to let us know over here when/if you've done that and we'll pick it up.

EDIT: If you can it might be worth trying a different modem to rule that out as the cause.

Re: No connection. DSL light off.

Lower than estimated speed is an issue I have had since 2016, there isn't much I haven't tried to resolve the issue.

Re: No connection. DSL light off.

Yeah I just read your other thread.

Might be worth arranging an engineer visit, I'll update your ticket here.
