No Speed Change after upgrade to Unlimited Fibre Extra

Hi All

I was just about to reply and did a couple of speed checks and the speed has jumped up to 45.

I was therefore wondering if you thought it might be better to leave it for another few days to see if it increases again, before calling out an engineer?

HI @saitchy, thanks for your message.

I'm aware that due to an issue at BTW side, some of the resets we'd sent through had been delayed and so I'd absolutely recommend giving it 2-3 days more to see if it continues to improve, or not.

If it starts to drop back down or if it plateaus and stops rising, please let us know.

This morning test shows we are up to 74!

Happy days, I will of course continue to monitor to make sure it stays stable, but this issue now seems to be put to bed...and sound asleep.

Sadly the speed has plummeted and is now in the 20s!

This is slower that we started on and slower that the basic fibre speed!

Thanks for coming back to us.

I'm sorry to hear you're still having problems there. I've run a diagnostic test via Openreach and the line is synchronising at 77.4 Mbps downstream and 20.0 Mbps upstream, there doesn't appear to be a fault.

I'd suggest connecting to the test socket if you're not already, and perhaps running another speedtest using a different site?

Can you confirm you are using a wired (Ethernet) connection here, rather than via Wi-Fi?

Right., I tried wired and it was no difference.

I took it out of the test socket and put the frontplate back on and retried in the normal socket.

Wired:

Wireless

So that is back to what it should be, but hardly satisfactory that I have to mess around with this all the time!
