My d/l speeds from BT were around 56Mbps.
Why don't I see an option to upgrade to plusnet 76/19?
I know I won't get the full speed, but it will be +18Mb from where I am now.
Thanks for any advice.
Tom

If it is over 40Mb/s then you will be able to change to the Fibre Extra (80/20) product with no problem
If it is less than 40Mb/s it will need staff input from here to sort

That explains why it isn't readily available.
I'll try get in touch with support.
Thanks for the quick response.

If they were not so stupid and offered the 40/10 product it wouldn't be such an issue.

Quote from: spoon Because they are cutting back on support and if they allowed people to go on to 80/20 and didn't get the high figure they think they'd have an increase in speed fault reports.
I thought the lower estimates have been given way before the support problems started. Ignore the 80/20-40/2 issue, as even without that there must be some like me, were I to want fibre, who would not regard the speed increase on the lower forecast as attractive, as that offered by ANOR that quotes the higher clean speed.

They might however end up going out of business due to losing money on the package but hey - at least no one would accuse them of being stupid.

When you're dealing with customers it's always best to understate what you can do. For some reason most people seem to be incurable optimists. When given a range of possible outcomes they always assume they will get something at the better end of the scale.

I'm on Unlimited 40/20. 40/10 would have been fine for me but 40/2 wouldn't. If I was upgrading from ADSL now I'd settle for a price between 40/2 and 80/20.

They didn't have the 40/10 option
It was 40/20 which was an artificially limited 80/20 which was a really silly product

Even if you lose money on the product? Let's hope you are never responsible for business decisions at your employer's.
