Newly connected

Hi, I was previously on BT infitiy and got a similar, perhaps slightly faster speed though higher ping, but wondering how my specs look in comparison to others, i get 40-45 down and 6-7 up
1. Product name: Plusnet Hub
2. Serial number: +081441+NQ53922291
3. Firmware version: Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.217 Last updated 02/02/16
4. Board version: Plusnet Hub One
5. DSL uptime: 0 days, 04:36:22
6. Data rate: 7800 / 48428
7. Maximum data rate: 7822 / 48675
8. Noise margin: 6.2 / 6.2
9. Line attenuation: 31.1 / 20.9
10. Signal attenuation: 30.6 / 18.9
11. Data sent/received: 479.6 MB / 1.5 GB
I'm about 300m as the bird flies from the exchange, is the line and signal attention a bit high? Is that the reason i can't get a higher speed?

Re: Newly connected

If you are on FTTC it is the line distance to the cabinet that is important - cabinet might be on the other side of the exchange?

Re: Newly connected

What bt hub did you have? and how are you connected up to your master socket. Direct or through a modem

Re: Newly connected

I was using the modem BT supplied with a router, when it was originally installed it was done by a BT engineer and they redid the master socket which it is attached to. There are no extensions.

Re: Newly connected

Hmm  was this an engineer install then or a self install.? and is it FTTC
I have just upgraded from adsl and it was a self install the Hub one just connected to the Master socket with an RJ11 cable.
Just wondering if you need the modem - did you get a booklet "lets get connected"?
I meant which BT router did you have? perhaps not BT?
