New router for old customer?

Hi, I see that Plusnet offer a newer and better broadband router (Plusnet Hub Zero) with their packages. Does anyone know if they plan to upgrade existing customers who own the older Technicolor 582 model for the newer one?

They don't although you may be able to get one by taking out a new 12 month contract and paying for P&P

Personally I would buy my own and get a better one

Re: New router for old customer?

What routers would you recommend and is it possible to get a combined router and modem for fibre ?

Thanks

Hmm, shame. I really think my Technicolor is pretty ancient. Sad

start here http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,14436.0.html

you need to look at what you need in terms of wireless capability as a first step

I have a Billion 8800NL as non of my devices use the more advanced wireless and I have a Samknows Box which acts as a gigabit switch

Re: New router for old customer?

I changed from the TG582 very quickly.  Initially with a Zyxel router and then an Asus RT-N66U, which has been running happily since.

Has anyone seen my signature, it's gone missing.

I also went for the Asus RT-N66U, instead of the basic Plusnet Technicolour offering.

(Probably shouldn't say this) No issues at all with it.

Re: New router for old customer?

Welcome to the community forums @gamegenie, apologies for the lack of a staff response in this thread.

I was going to advise that we'd be able to provide a new router for the P&P cost of £6.99 as part of a new contract (Or within the first 3 months of a new contract) however I see you contacted us and discussed this back when making your initial post.

You are able to re-contract once you're within the last 3 months of your current contract if this is something you would be interested in doing closer to the time.
