New house move dropping connections

Moved house and connection dropping constantly for upto 30 seconds then be alrite for upto 30 minutes on average then drop again tried test socket changed ethernet cables reset modem rang plusnet yesterday guy noticed that im still on 40/10 at exchange so asked engineer to come change 80/20 just wondering if this has happened
