Just had an email saying Plusnet sorry to see me moving to another provider - I am guessing this is just a side effect of my new order?

Yup that's correct.
Because your moving from a old technology (20CN) to Fibre the old technology gets shut down.
The e-mail is sent out in error so you don't have to worry about any charges.
[EDIT]
And the appointments booked for the 10th between 8am and 1pm.
Let me know if that needs changing.
