New fibre install - download speed < 2 Mbps - range 40 - 77 Mbps

I think I'm following ChrissyR around these forums, as I might have this issue: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,140323.0.html
Just had fibre installed, but my download speed is ridiculously low (results from BTW):
Quote
1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
Download Speed
1.49 Mbps

0 Mbps 77.44 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.49 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 40 Mbps-77.44 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 77.44 Mbps
2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.
Upload Speed
9.63 Mbps

0 Mbps 20 Mbps
Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 9.63Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

This test was not conclusive and further testing is required. This might be useful for your Broadband Service Provider to investigate the fault.

The fibre connection was literally installed this morning, so this might seem impatient, but y'know 🙂

Re: New fibre install - download speed < 2 Mbps - range 40 - 77 Mbps

Thanks, I'm not sure what I'm looking for though. The estimated speed's check was when I was on ADSL - makes sense. The current line speed (sync speed) - is that set by PN?

That is the reason - try phoning or chat asking for the Plusnet profile to be increased

Re: New fibre install - download speed < 2 Mbps - range 40 - 77 Mbps

I just try until it says it's available, I assume it's to do with how busy they are dealing with other things as well.
Unfortunately I'm still getting the same speed test results on BTW, even though my current and estimated line speeds have been updated. Will try restarting the OR modem again later and see how that goes.
