New fibre connection

Ok so my fibre upgrade went live yesterday. After doing some research and from what the plusnet and BT wholesale site says I was expecting speeds very close to 80/20 (the street cabinet is outside my lounge window).
Since connecting I'm getting 36-38down and 1.8-1.9up... I understand that they say it takes up to 10 days to get a stable connection and to expect a 'slight' fluctuation in speed but at what point do I call and ask why this is?

Thanks

Re: New fibre connection

Did you sign up for Unlimited Fibre or Unlimited Fibre Extra?
The speeds you are seeing are exactly what the less expensive product (Unlimited Fibre) would provide on a good line.

Re: New fibre connection

Ditto : or you You may have been provisioned with  the  38 Mb product (Unlimited Fibre  )  in error and not the 76Mb one  (unlimited Fibre Extra) you expected.
Raise it with PN via the online chat and ask for an explanation

Re: New fibre connection

You guys were right, they'd mistakenly out me on the 38mb package.
Can't fault the live chat team though...

Re: New fibre connection

Looks like the order to fix this has completed, hopefully you're seeing speeds closer to what you expected now.

Re: New fibre connection

They did this to me as well, which raises the question, how many people are they doing this to, that are not tech savvey such as ourselves and do not know how to check their speeds. I smell foul play here, being its not the first time ive read this now.

Re: New fibre connection

Couldn't agree more, my brother had the same issue when he was connected 2 days after me. Not good PN

Re: New fibre connection

Speeds are dropping again! Now my download is sitting around the 28-38meg; upload is remaining consistent. Didn't expect it to do this, was expecting it to drop to maybe 60meg from 75 not down into the 20's...! Cry

Re: New fibre connection

Keep an eye on it. Connection Speed can vary for lots of reasons. The weather, line faults, internal wiring, faulty equipment, interference from other equiment and plenty more . None of these factors can be influenced deliberately by PN or can be predicted .
If you start eilminating the possible causes by followoing the fault guides you will get there in the end,  but don't fall into the trap of believing that PN don't care or are making things bad for you on purpose.

Re: New fibre connection

I'm not too concerned at the moment, will wait until the advised 10 days is up before I contact them again. 
