New customer waiting in for BT modem install

This afternoon is my time slot given by Plusnet for my modem to be installed.
My old broaband was off this morning and the phone went off after lunch.
No sign yet of OR to fit modem and get my line going again.
My past dealings with OR is that they allways informed me they were going to come and on their way, no message as been recieved from OR.
Should I be concerned?

Re: New customer waiting in for BT modem install

Just checked your account, the engineer is booked between 1 PM & 6 PM. The OR guys do not always contact a customer prior to arriving. Just make sure you are in ready for him to do the work. Smiley If he does not arrive, please contact the order updates team, they will be able to investigate further.

Re: New customer waiting in for BT modem install

The engineer is booked for the times which I mentioned. Sometimes due to unforeseen circumstances he may not arrive. I am not saying that he will not come to your property, just that there are certain circumstances that could happen.

Re: New customer waiting in for BT modem install

I believe that you have (or are at least attempting to!) migrate from Sky?  Were you on a fibre product with them or ADSL?  BTO seem to often make a pigs ear of migrating from a fibre provider that uses their own modem+router to one that needs a BT modem.  They assume, as it is a migration, that you already have a modem...

Re: New customer waiting in for BT modem install

I've just been chasing this for you (well, I still am). The order is closed off hence you won't get an engineer out today.
I'm raising it now to see what is the best way forward for you.

Re: New customer waiting in for BT modem install

It seems pwatson is correct, as this was a migration that decided a modem wasn't required.
I can only apologise. What hardware do you currently have? We can get a modem out to you, but if you already have one, you should be able to connect now.

Re: New customer waiting in for BT modem install

Do yourself a favour & buy yourself a modem/router such as the Billion 8800NL or such like.  A much tidier solution.
