New WiFi password not recognised after changing to BT Smart Hub

I have followed the well trodden path of replacing my PlusNet One modem with a BT Smart Hub 6A (FTTC). My (wired pc) is functioning well having installed the Smart Hub using the directions posted by several people on here.
I am however, left with a problem, when I try to connect my devices using WiFi, I get an incorrect password message despite using the new password that came with the Smart Hub and checked the password is correct according to the WiFi advanced settings page. I haven't seen anybody else report this problem on this website.
