New Router

I've just signed up to upgrade to Fibre (it is worth calling COT to see what they can offer, albeit taking 32 minutes for the call to be answered!) and apparently I am getting a new router.
Apologies if this is a daft question, but can I use this new router on ADSL before changing to fibre or should I wait until changeover day.  My reason for asking is that I have a suspicion that the router I am currently using (an ex-TalkTalk DLink) may not be just right; for example I can no longer access settings & stats.

Hi there,
I'd recommend sticking with your existing router until your fibre provision is sorted. I'm placing the order for you now, so you should be able to get the 18th. Though I'll email you shortly.
