I intend to upgrade the router - "This billions router, was actually the one i had in mind before the thread started...", get the right cabling (twisted, cat6 etc...) - for wireless, i understand that powerline adapters might not be the best, but there sure gonna be much better than these crappy 2007 belkin 54mbps wireless adapter i have now from back in the day.
So im open for all and any suggestions, on how to succeed in helping both PN & myself, in getting my speeds upto what they should be, cause in the long run, more speed in my general purpose for what we use the net for, is always a bonus.
Someone suggested http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-C2-Wireless-Gigabit-Storage/dp/B00K0MJ8DS this one.
Seems alright.

So ignoring routers/power adapters and all of that for now, what you really need to see is your linestats - which means you need to unlock your modem (and it depends on whether you've got a Huawei or ECI modem). On top of that, you need to know what type of cabinet you're connecting to.
This is important, because this might be messing with your stats/you might be interleaved etc...
But if you had stats, you might be able to spot issues and fix them - meaning you could get a speedboost.

This means you'll probably get better speeds using a router with a Broadcom chip in it.
Which one is best? Really don't know...
Looking over at Kitz (http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,14436.0.html) you'd want something with BCM inside - the prices are all quite high, but you might be able to track down a bargain (£120-150!).
I guess I'd probably go for a Billion BiPAC 8800AXL for all of the bells and whistles... but it's quite expensive and out of stock on Amazon.

But in all seriousness, routers....
The one you suggested is obviously the one im going for, due to the fact well, so far its the only 1 you suggested, and you clearly have experience more than i do in this matter.
But with it being out of stock, any other routers or websites you reckon i could pick one up?
Newegg etc?
Im guessing the http://www.amazon.co.uk/Billion-8800NL-Gigabit-Wireless-Router/dp/B00K6D2ESM is no use? Scratch that, realized it has no 5ghz.

There's a Netgear D6400 which you can pick up from just about anywhere (PC World/Currys etc)... this should be OK, but you'll need to install the latest firmware to get the best out of it.
http://www.netgear.co.uk/home/products/networking/dsl-modems-routers/d6400.aspx
Just a bit wary of netgear, having used their routers in the past...
I'll have a nosey around on various forums and see if anything else jumps out at me - just steer clear of BT Homehubs, because chances are you'll get the wrong one (you want a 5B not a 5A) and they tend to be locked down. If you can guarantee you'd get a 5B, that might worth a shot.

My TP Link power adapters arrived this morning - and ive just set them up (took less than 10minutes...)
- MY PC CONNECTION! (Woot!)
I am now punching out the exact same results, as my wire connected pc downstairs, through a different outlet - using the power adapters, these things are really a godsend.
The only thing to work on now, is to replace the router, with a 5Ghz band - and hopefully get my speed increased through the exchange, cause PN are still capping me around 35mb
Below, is a chart again, of another diagnostics test, so clearly...my line CAN accept upto 60mb, im guessing the 5ghz router should fix this?
And for some reason PN are still pushing this out.
Estimated line speed:
45Mb (Download speed could vary depending on line conditions. Estimates are the maximum speeds that your phone line can support. These speeds are dependent on the package you choose.) - Checked on 2015-05-18 15:11:53
Current line speed:
40 Mb
Surely this has to be on there end?

I thank everyone for there sound advice and help - its much appreciated.
But ive finally fixed the cause of the problem.
And suffice to say, it was PN's side, not my end, not the routers end, not the bands, wireless, exchange, cabinet....nothing.
I spoke to someone from bb support online chat - called Lewis.
Within 3minutes, he had sussed, and completely admitted, "The problem is with your account setup - give me 1minute to update your profile"....
Within 15minutes, i done a new speedtest.
This is what i am now getting.
Lewis, you need a bonus mate....thank you once again, and heres hoping it stays this way!
Thanks again guys!
Good luck!
