New Fibre 76/20 order

Hi, I'm due to have my fibre connected today according to the email I received when I made my order. I also made a check yesterday via the online chat to confirm all will be going ahead as scheduled. The gent did mention it could take upto midnight to complete.
Is everything still going to plan? Because I was expecting a text/email to confirm the activation will be taking place.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

That's great, I'm transferring from a TalkTalk ADSL connection that struggles to reach 10Mbps, so I'm looking forward to the extra speed. I'll update when it's live.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

you may be surprised to find out that simply changing ISPs may not improve your speed.
if the speed is caused by line limitations then no ISP will improve that.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

Yes I certainly would not see any increase in speed if I moved to another ISP's ADSL based service. I should reiterate that with TalkTalk I'm on ADSL so I'm at the mercy of the distance from the exchange. It goes without saying that even if I was next door to the exchange, I would still only receive less than half the potential speed of FTTC. My estimated speed on FTTC is 71-80Mbps with a minimum guaranteed speed of 63Mbps, so I'm hopeful of a good boost. To be honest having suffered sub 5Mbps speeds at peak times with ADSL, I would even be chuffed with a minimum of 63Mbps.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

Yes, I received it last Thursday, but it does mention in the quick guide to wait for the email/text confirming the connection is live before installing the router. I know it is perfectly fine to install it early and give it a reset once live, but it's not a problem to wait for the go ahead either. I'm still on my TalkTalk connection now, I was expecting the FTTC order to be complete by now to be honest.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

Thanks, will post up some stats when all is working. I was not connected yesterday but I have lost connection to my TalkTalk  broadbad service this morning. I've connected the Hub One and the b light is flashing red with a orange status light so it's not completed yet. I'll restart the Hub One in a few hours to see if I can get online.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

Got an update from live chat and the order was completed but the supplier did not notify plusnet. The order has now been logged as complete and should be functional within the next 30 minutes.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

Contacted support a few times to eventually get through to one advisor who checked my line and said there seems to be a fault on itt. I have tried to use the online broadband troubleshooter to report a fault but I get this error when trying to submit it "We're sorry, but you can't use the Broadband Troubleshooter to report a fault on your service. Please contact our Support Team for help."
I've ordered broadband only as I've had no problems with my phone line supplier.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

Taking a look now, I think I've fixed the reason for the fault checker not working though so you should be able to run through that.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

Unfortunately it is likely to need an engineer to fix this. If you can report the fault at the faults checker and let us know your availability for an engineer in the comments, we'll get this looked at asap.

Re: New Fibre 76/20 order

Ok thanks for looking in to this, I've completed the troubleshooter and it's been put to the team for review. Also added availability for an engineer to the comments.
