New Customer - Line speed seems limited

Hi there,
As of last Friday I joined plusnet, on the Unlimited Fibre Extra package. The engineer who installed the OpenReach box said the line was tested at 80mb, but my speed seems to hover around 38mb.
Looking on your website at the High Speed Broadband bit I see the following;
"Estimated line speed:
80Mb (Download speed could vary depending on line conditions. Estimates are the maximum speeds that your phone line can support. These speeds are dependent on the package you choose.) - Checked on 2015-07-03 11:10:51
Current line speed:
40 Mb"
Any idea why it's being limited to 40mb?Huh
Thanks,
Peter

Yes, they've put you on the wrong package. I'm sure someone will be along tomorrow to fix it - or you could phone them tonight if the wait is not too long

Re: New Customer - Line speed seems limited

The issue was on our end rather then our suppliers.
I've sorted it now so you should be seeing better speeds.

Re: New Customer - Line speed seems limited

Thanks, my server now reports around 70mbps, much better!
I would like to say that my initial impressions of your network have not been great, having to phone up to get the service working in the first place, then being limited seemingly for no reason. Makes me wonder how many of your customers are experiencing lower speeds than they're paying for just because of a glitch on your end.
