New Cabinet for Fibre !

Openreach have posted a notice outside exchange that intend to install new green cabinet. Yippee.
From experience how long is the process likely to take before live. Interestingly we are all  Wire to Premises at moment so sound like converting to FTTC.
Hopefully picture attached.

Re: New Cabinet for Fibre !

How long is a piece of string is the honest answer many factors come into play it could take weeks maybe months before the cab is installed and your able to take orders from it, it also could end up being delayed for a number of reasons, it's not always straight forward.

Re: New Cabinet for Fibre !

It took my old cab about two or three months, but you are likely to get very contradicting answers in honesty. It's not a very good indicator of how long you will have to wait.

Re: New Cabinet for Fibre !

It took about 6 weeks for my fttc to go live after cabinet was installed.
That's not counting the 10 months it took to get the cabinet installed...

Re: New Cabinet for Fibre !

Mine was nearly 3 months. Different contractors perform the various tasks. The next task will be to connect the fibre cab to the existing cab. Then the fibre cable will be "blown" through from the exchange. After that it should be only a couple of weeks.
