Netgear R7000 continually disconnecting

Hi all, hope someone can help me setting up this router, it continually drops connection to the internet randomly, especially notice it while on Xbox live, the DSL light on the modem stays green but the router drops off, so I assume it is the router.
Have tried updating the firmware, resetting back to factory settings but always seems the same.

Do you have an idle timeout set on the router ?

Got it set to always on connection so the idle time out setting is not used, is this what you mean?

Yes - that would be the one. One more thing to tick off the list.

Tried everything with this router, has anyone else here got a R7000 working stable as I have been offered an exchange

Re: Netgear R7000 continually disconnecting

The line is being disconnected frequently with the majority of disconnections showing as 'user request' which is normally a disconnect from the router, this fits in with the DSL light staying solid on the modem. Having said that a line test is showing a potential issue on the phone line.
Can you plug a corded handset into the master socket and dial 17070, do the quiet line test and listen for any noises at all.

Re: Netgear R7000 continually disconnecting

I've just tested your phone line and it's detected a problem external to your property, so I've passed this on to be looked at. The estimated update time is on the 20th, so I'll check back on it on Friday and let you know what's happening.

Re: Netgear R7000 continually disconnecting

I am using an R7000 router attached to HG612 modem, it works brilliantly with a very good wireless range compared to the Technicolor router. Hopefully Plusnet's investigation will find a fault and you can then enjoy the benefits of fibre. Set up was very straightforward username, password and always on. Goodluck!
