Netgear Nighthawk X4S AC2600 (Model D7800) failing to maintain session

two days ago i purchased the modem above to replace the Technicolor/openreach modem combo that plusnet supplied me with.
i've been using the 38mb unlimited service for about a year now with no issues, however the D7800 refuses to hold a session for longer than 30 minutes. i'm running the current firmware v1.0.0.46 and did a factory rest after applying.
Line figures are quoted as the following on the modem.
DSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 72.66 Mbps 11.25 Mbps
Line Attenuation 21.30 dB 30.40 dB
Noise Margin 7.30 dB 6.10 dB
Rang Plusnet support and other than running line tests which all passed, they can't see anything wrong (apart from the 200+ session connects in last 24hrs), nor will they help further.
I have a case open with Netgear, but lets say that currently i'm not optimistic that their engineers are going to get anywhere....
Simple question, has anybody else had issues with this modem.

Have you unlocked your router and tried to run DSLSTATS on it, it may yield information that can give you pointers

If you leave the router connected, I'd be interested to know whether or not things settle down tomorrow?

this doesnt work on the D7800,
you get a 'No such file or directory' message when trying to access the debug page.

can you elaborate - what's happening tomorrow that would affect my routers ability to synch with the exchange?

I have this modem and it is generally fine for me. I get a disconnect about once a day, and got the same with the Plusnet One hub (was hoping the D7800 would eliminate this)

Ah sorry, I overlooked the date of your original post.
Having said that, things do look to have been a tad stabler since the 20th?
