Need to postpone activation date

Hi,

I need to postpone the activation date on our recently ordered broadband package. The purchase of the property we are going for has had an unexpected last minute delay and the seller has reacted badly to the email from their current provider, saying they will be cutoff from xyz date.

What is the easiest way to do this? I called the customer care team earlier this evening, but unfortunately after explaining the situation to a chap I was passed to another department and was then on hold for over 20 minutes..
