My ping has doubled when using XBOX

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has any idea why my ping on XBOX ONE has just increased. Normally its around 17ms, but now its around 32ms when I test my ping.

Nothing has changed at my end, I'm still connected to the master socket and wired to the router. My ping to the router is 1ms so I know that's not the problem, I've disconnected everything and its still the same. My download/upload speeds are the same, its just my latency that has doubled in the last few days.

Where would you like me to do a trace route to? The ping is being reported on the Xbox within the network menu so I don't know where to run a trace route. I wish i knew the IP that it uses so I could get a better picture from my desktop. Do you know what address to use for Xbox live servers? Or is there another address you'd like me to try?

Ideally we'd like to run a traceroute to the Xbox servers but if you don't know the address, can you run a traceroute to pingbox1.thinkbroadband.com and/or bbc.co.uk?

If I ping a website I'm getting about 10-11ms (which is usual I think) but using the xbox one Network diagnostics in the sytem settings menu's (I've tried it on two separate xbox's with same result) I'm getting a ping of 30-32ms to their servers. It may be a problem with their servers (with it being Christmas and potentially a whole loaf of new users accessign their servers) but I wanted to eliminate the possibility that it was at this end first.

the smiley in the traceroute is in fact an '8 )' so that iP should read:

195.166.143.128

My ping has gone from 17 to 28!

The latency looks fine throughout that traceroute.

It does appear that the issue lies with the Xbox servers.
