Due a somewhat convoluted order (fibre extra, changed to BB, back to fibre again) I'm currently on 40 down profile and should be on extra (80/20). Just for peace of mind, I've been told that the switch to fibre extra needs an engineer call to the cabinet to move to a faster port. Is this correct and it's not a software control at PN/BT side?

No it doesn't need an engineer visit, all the FTTC ports are the same, it just requires an order from PlusNet to modify the service to 80/20. Should only take a day to do it.

That sounds wrong - taking a look for you now.
Ok please disregard what you have been advised. A basic profile modify is in place for this Thursday, and it won't require any of your time. Are you ok to let me know how you get on?

Yes that's fine thanks. I thought it sounded a bit odd (but things might have changed!).
Thanks for the assist.
