Moved to Fibre Extra from Unlimited Fibre, nothing has changed Upload/Download speedwise.

I recently moved from the Unlimited Fibre package to the Fibre Extra package as I realised that I could get a better performance out of the line (Plus a better upload speed is needed) but after it's been changed over today, nothing appears to have changed. The data rate is still the same as it was in the previous package.

I'm wondering if this has something to do with me ordering the package while the address details were wrong when I ordered it (The details have now been fixed) Now the correct details have been updated to my account, regardless my estimated speed should still suggest a major change in both my upload and download speed.

  • 66Mb - 80Mb download speed (estimated)
  • 19Mb - 20Mb upload speed (estimated)

What does it say here for Current Line Speed https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed

When did you upgrade, and when is your billing date? These upgrades tend to happen on your billing date to keep it simple.

Re: Moved to Fibre Extra from Unlimited Fibre, nothing has changed Upload/Download speedwise.

I don't think you have been upgraded today as your line has both the upstream and downstream speed set to the 40/2 limits. The speed limit at Plusnet would affect only the downstream not the upstream rate. (Plus unless you have a static IP address or are still on the old network, then the speed limit is not applicable)

6. Data rate:	1999 / 39993
7. Maximum data rate:	22796 / 77496

Your router is sync'ing at 77/22 though so you will get a decent speed once the work has been done.

Upgraded at 16th and the billing data is 24th this month.

Fair enough though isn't the upload speed limited to 2mbps in the Unlimited Fibre package anyways?

Fix

Hello @ExtremeZero

I'm really sorry to hear that you're having issues with your speed. I'm testing your broadband and your router is still in sync at 40/2. It appears the modify order we placed to 80/20 didn't go through as expected.

I'm now placing it again myself and this will complete tomorrow.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
