Moved house, Master socket needs relocating

Moved house two days ago. Prior to the move, I advised Plusnet and kept my landline and Fibre broadband.

However, the previous owners worked from home and it appears that they had the master socket (it has Openreach written on it) installed in the bedroom they used as an office. There is a socket by the front door, but there are no electrical power sockets there. The bedroom is now my baby daughter’s room, so there are a number of reasons for not wanting the router in there.

Is it Plusnet or Openreach that I should contact to relocate the master socket? Preferably, I would like it in the lounge. Does anyone have experience of this?

It would be MUCH cheaper to find a local sparky to move the phone master socket and arrange for a suitable power point for it. 🙂

@westleighjones

If you want to comply with the regulations then you contact Plusnet who will get Openreach to move it. There is a standard charge of £160.
