Re: Who Caps your broadband speed ?

One block of text with little punctuation, paragraphs or actual figures make very difficult reading!

A copy of the DSL table showing your expected speeds, along with actual sync and attainable speeds from the router would have helped you manage your issues a lot easier.

Openreach do not own the equipment in the exchanes or FTTC cabinets, but do control the lines. BTW Broadband Centre of Excellence manage the equipment and would release any DLM caps. DLM is automatic and will limit line speeds to meet the condition of the line. Resetting DLM without finding the underlying issue is a short term fix.

Your first point in any broadband fault is using a telephone to detect any noise on the line.

Re: Who Caps your broadband speed ?

Great ,so it is true, it was simply damage limitation by BTw , OR wanted  to replace a major cable note 2 weeks of closed roads with traffic lights and then phone disconnections ,so simply capping broadband was damage limitation and lowest amount of cost compensation ,So even though PN CSC spotted the cap and requested  BTw remove it they failed to do it . Then for over the next 2 months, 3 OR engineers failed to spot the BTw cap and kept applying DLM resets until the lockdown closed the thread down until last week when a PN CSC member spotted it was still capped . Now without any OR help ,PN CSC contacted BTw asked for cap removal and hey presto magic all cured ? Sorry it was just bad dream but what else could have happened ?????? The line was never noisy ,but just cut off when they swopped old cable for new cable so 3 days compensation but 4 months of [-Censored-] broadband speed no compensation and with lockdown a license to get away with any poor service on BTw ,OR,PN and all backed up by OFCOM !!!!

Re: Who Caps your broadband speed ?

Without any figures who can say, maybe just your paranoia.
