MacBook Pro Updates and Factory reset

I’m not sure if anybody else has had this problem but whenever I use my Plushet connection to do an apple update or factory reset using my Plushet connection or at my parents who have Plushet fibre also.  The download fails.

So so as a lost resort I connect my MacBook Pro 2017 to my phones Hotspot and it downloads and installs fine also is fine when I use my friends internet but different provider.

Does Plusnet have a problem with apple updates..  Also have a problem when at home and my iPhone connects to my WiFi as often can’t open websites so end up turning off the phones WiFi.

Looking like Plusnet just don’t like apple products as another friend having same issue.

Or split the the two wifi bands.

We have various mac's that have no issue updating, so it's not a PN wide issue.

Re: MacBook Pro Updates and Factory reset

Apologises I sent a reply but unfortunately it did not post.  Unfortunately it did not work as I had already erased the Mac drive for reset.

The fix did say though some problems connecting to the WiFi but my Mac never has this problem other than during factory reset but connects fine to my phones hotspot and also to my brothers house which is Sky.

Hi @tracer10, thanks for getting back to us.

To clarify, did the disk wipe help to fix the issue, or is it still ongoing?

Re: MacBook Pro Updates and Factory reset

Could you try the steps here and also here letting us know how it goes?

If you're still having issues is there any way you could connect your Mac into the router via an ethernet cable to try?
