MacBook Air won't connect to hub one

My router connects to every single item in my house: smart tv, sky box printers iPhones the lot but it will only ever about 10% of the time allow my MacBook Air to connect to it. It is very annoying. The mac will connect to other wifi connections including my neighbours bt fon rubbish but not mine. Please help! Have already done the splitting to 5g channels etc to no joy. Ideas?

I should also say I never once had this problem with my old non fibre router.

Re: MacBook Air won't connect to hub one

Try disabling 'Sync with 2.4 GHz' and change the name of the Wireless SSID for the 5 GHz wireless network as shown below:

Re: MacBook Air won't connect to hub one

thanks for that, but already tried that after a previous community trawl...it hasn't worked. I am sick of rebooting the router everytime I want to use my computer!

@allanconnell

Have you tried setting a static IP address ?

My bad. I didn't read your original post properly.  What error message do you witness when the Macbook won't connect?

eg. Is it prompting for a password?

Absolutely, the usual - it asks for the password then once you put it in it says it is wrong when it is defy the right one! - IF I REBOOT the hub it will connect but only the once then back to the same problem - which is bizarre as it will connect no bother to other wifi connections.

Re: MacBook Air won't connect to hub one

Have you seen this BT thread?

https://community.bt.com/t5/Connected-Devices-Other/BT-INFINITY-wifi-loss-on-MacBook-Air-ready-to-qu...

I think the advice seems to be to ensure the MacBook 'forgets' both wifi connections from the Hub One, and configure the MacBook to connect to 2.4 GHz only.
