MT4 Forex trading EA license authorisation fails through TG582n router

I have a Technicolor TG582n FTTC router. It appears to have all standard out the box firewall settings as I have never changed any to my recall. I use an MT4 Forex trading platform and recently purchased an automatic indicator called an EA or Expert Advisor to work on the MT4 platform. The EA needs to register the MT4 platform account number with a remote server to authorise the license in order for the EA to function. This transaction fails because of some setting in the router. I know this because it works when tested on my laptop over my neighbour's Talk Talk router. Anyone else encoutered this problem or have any advice to resolve it?
