Loss of speed and internet connection.

I am seeing the download speed dropping, followed by the internet connection failing.

The router will reconnect with a download speed of 74 Mbps and upload of 18 Mbps.

After a while the download speed will fall to below 5 Mbps, while the upload is unaffected.

This is followed by the internet disconnection.

My wiring setup has not changed, and the phone line seems to be OK.

What can cause the download speed to fall, while the upload is OK?

Have you been testing over a wired or wireless connection?

Also does this happen at any specific time?

I use a wired connection. The problem can arise at any time of day. It has happened a couple of times today.

I have just switched from Hub 1 to the BT modem/PlusNet router setup to see if that helps

Our tests aren't showing any particular cause.

If it continues I'd recommend raising a fault here.
