Looking prett poor at the moment..

I've signed up for Fibre Extra broadband which was finally delivered yesterday.  It is advertised as 65-72Mb with a guaranteed minimum of 60.6Mb, I'm currently getting 12Mb download which is pretty dire.  The router is plugged directly into a new BT master socket so no dodgy wiring to blame and I'm running the test on a cable connected laptop so no dodgy WiFi to blame.  I've had slightly better speeds during the day (but nowhere near 60.6).  I'm concerned that this service isn't going to be good enough to replace the ever price increasing Virgin Media connection that I currently have also.  This gives consistently 200Mb regardless of time of day.

Due to the fact that we do not supply your phoneline, I'd recommend contacting the supplier and getting them to run a line test as we aren't able to run diagnostics on another providers service.

Please let us know how you get on.

Re: Looking prett poor at the moment..

Many thanks for your swift response.  The test result looks pretty good to me with the exception of the voice fault.  How would you interpret that, do you think there is a problem with the copper wire that joins my master socket to the street cabinet (which is very close to my house) - is this not BT's responsibility?  My phone line contract is with ITalk at the moment so I'll get in touch with them but I'm not sure how interested they'll be in helping - I'll let you know!

Hi @Planetcs

They should be contractually obligated to address faults on their side as yoru WRL3 provider?

Let us know how it goes with them.

Kind Regards,

MoR
