Plusnet took a business decision to suspend all Live Chat (except for cancellations) until at least some time on Monday 10th September. They don't have sufficient staff to handle the long phone queues and the Chat system at this point in time.

PN spend huge amounts on TV & Press advertising to generate new customers, but they
do not £invest£ sufficient resources in appropriate customer facing resource levels.
This explains CHAT's suspension, and the interminable delays on getting through on the phone.;
PN have long promised to tackle this, meanwhile the 21st Century arrived!
Assuming their media campaigns are drawing in increased customers, the customer service levels
will continue to be under stress.
