Re: Line check

Line test results below, from an initial glance your line has G.INP on it but on a low setting. I can see the fault is open, I'll give the team a nudge to pick it up.
Downstream Speed 69.6 Mbps
Upstream Speed 20.0 Mbps
Profile Name 0.128M-80M Downstream, Retransmission Low - 0.128M-20M Upstream, Retransmission Low

Re: Line check

cheers it has been almost 48 hours without anything back from plusnet, Ive just done a speedtest and im currently getting 62 down the uptime seams to be fine at 18. What is G.INP and why is it enabled, is this the reason ive lost 12 meg down from my line ? Ive not touched anything my end my connection was stable at 74/18 for the past 4 months.

Re: Line check

basically G.INP is used to help with noise interference on the line, noise is one of the main reasons why DLM acts to add interleaving and or banding to slow things down and make things more stable the less noise there is the better the line behaves, as i say G.INP helps block the noise and in some cases you can a little more speed or gain back some speed you may have lost.
currently there is an issue with those that are on Huawei fibre cabs using ECI modems they don't work well together and such you loose some speed and pings increase, the only way currently to fix that is to get a Huawei based modem at your own expense the only other alternative is to wait and see if BTO fix the issue but no one seems to know when that will be.
Do you happen to know if your using a ECI modem ? if you are that could be the reason you have lost some speed.

Re: Line check

Your type of Modem that connects to the router, not the router.

Re: Line check

If you have an unlocked Hg612 and g.inp has been applied to your line then you must upgrade to f/w version B030SP08 to get your line restored back to max rate 80/20
Firmware here:

Look up under folder B030SP08

In that case it will still be getting updates automatically, there's nothing you need to do.

Re: Line check

so basicly its down to bt to push an update out to fix my line speed back to how it was, so its upto plusnet to kick some backsides then

Re: Line check

Your line is syncing at a slightly lower rate than before. I doubt it's a modem issue though.

Re: Line check

As you've got a standard HG612 it's not likely to be a modem issue. The HG612 is the one that people with the G.INP problems are buying to fix their connection!  Wink
