Re: Line Crackling

I've run a line test for you but I haven't been able to any fault. This doesn't mean that there isn't a fault, but I'd want you to do full diagnostics before we take it further just to rule them out. Is it possible you could borrow a corded phone for testing?

Re: Line Crackling

It can cause broadband problems so it is worth investigating, and we will do this for you. I just don't want to risk you being billed were it to turn out to be your base unit/handset.

Re: Line Crackling

Cheap corded phones can be bought from argos ,tesco's curry's and probably more shops, for around £10  but this one is £5.99 http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5526527.htm
certainly better and putting up with a potential line fault, that won't get any better, and if it hasn't already it most probably will start to have a detrimental impact on your broadband ,as well as it being  cheaper than getting charged for the BT openreach engineer call out to your home, should it be down to  equipment on your side of the master socket, such as filters,modem/routers,sky boxes or anything that is connected to the line in your home
plus it's there for use as a backup should you get a power cut

Re: Line Crackling

Well i went to argos & bought a corded phone, guess what the line was totally silent, brilliant. Smiley
But another query i have is why even with fibre does it take sometimes 5-6 seconds for a page to load. Shocked
