I left it pinging pingbox1.thinkbroadband.com for 7 hours, I'm still experiencing spikes but no where near as common.

While this is your thread and it appears this may be related to the issues discussed over there it may be worth keeping replies to that thread to keep things in one place. Although any point if you feel that what you're experiencing is straying away from what they're experiencing etc feel free let us know here.
