Just got home and internet is off. Who can I call now?

Just got home and the internet isn't on. From my CCTV it seems the connection was lost around 2pm.

I dont suppose there is anyone I can call before the morning?Huh

Do you have dial tone ? Does 17070 give the right number, and option 2 quiet line give no noise.

Have you tried rebooting router and testing from test socket, with a new filter ?

You can do a line test online yourself it may pick up a line fault automatically and raise a ticket with Openreach to resolve.

Can you borrow one ? Knowing the state of the physical line is really useful when diagnosing faults.

Try running the voice phone tester wizard online - it may pick up a fault.

It found no fault and said they would call me tomorrow after 8am (annoying)

One other thought when you say internet is off I assume you mean the router isn't syncing ? You can check this going to the router help desk page and seeing if the router is syncing - it will show if the line is connecting and at what speed.

If it is syncing I would double check the username and password used to connect to PlusNet stored in the router - it's possible they may have got reset for some reason.

Logged onto my router and it just says its disconnected. Router is showing an orange light with a orange flashing B symbol

Re: Just got home and internet is off. Who can I call now?

Ok so the router isn't syncing which is what I assumed. If it doesn't sync in the test socket there isn't much more you can do until PlusNet contact you.

If it's gone off and stayed off, then it's either the router has suddenly developed a fault or someone has disturbed the wiring along the line route - could be an engineer working on another line for example.
