Issues with new router. TD-W8980

Hi all, first of all sorry if this is in the wrong section, first time posting here!

I just bought a TD-W8980 N600 off amazon for £40, but im having alot of issues setting it up.

Ive got the dsl line running through the BT Open reach modem then to the LAN/WAN Ethernet port on the new router.

i go to set it up and configure everything and i still cannot seem to connect, screens below.

am i doing something wrong? thanks in advanced.

Re: Issues with new router. TD-W8980

Try changing from PPPoA to PPPoE and also (I think) 0/38 to 101.

Hi phil, thanks for replying, the VPI/VCI ( 0/38 ) are two different numbers that i was supplied here; http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/hardware/broadband-connection-settings.shtml#fibreConnectionSe...

I've also tried PPPoA & PPPoE, Still no luck.

Re: Issues with new router. TD-W8980

Fix

This is an ADSL router that also has ethernet WAN (for use with the BTOR modem and with cable modems).  By the look of the screengrabs you've shared, you haven't selected ethernet WAN (the config pages shown are for the DSL connection)

You need to select Wireless Router Mode in the Operation Mode screen and then setup the PPPoE settings in the Network|WAN settings.

Alternatively, if you're feeling brave, you can cross flash the router with the TD-W9980 firmware to enable the modem work with VDSL and abandon the BTOR modem. Wink
