Issue connecting to remote website

Weird issue.

From a PlusNet fibre connection I cannot access website on address  27.131.104.114 (** I am aware this will give a default website error - that's fine Smiley  as server hosts many websites/accounts.  If you get that error you can see it.  The issue is from one PN fibre connection it "times out" - and not only on web, but all ping packets.

Ping times out, but tracert goes out from plus.net to bt, to a .nl and then nothing - no response.

From another PlusNet connection it works fine -and also works from 3g/4g etc.

Rebooting PN router, no difference.

Factory reset of PN router (as advised by support) did work - and the site was than accessible.

But a few hours later, it stopped working again.

How can this be?!  The tracert shows the packets leaving the router out to plus.net/bt and beyond.

So suggests its an interest routing issue - but how did a factory reset fix it?

And how on earth do we resolve this!?! (that server hosts company email!)  - we are pulling it into gmail and can access it from there, so all is fine on that server. And it works fine from 3g/4g and another plusnet connection.

Ideas welcome!

Re: Issue connecting to remote website

From MY PlusNet connection which works,  my tracert gives:-

Tracing route to 27.131.104.114 over a maximum of 30 hops

  1    36 ms    97 ms    97 ms  dsldevice.lan [192.168.1.254]
  2     *        *        *     Request timed out.
  3     *        *        *     Request timed out.
  4    21 ms    23 ms    20 ms  be3-3106.psb-ir02.plus.net [195.166.143.140]
  5    21 ms    20 ms    21 ms  195.99.125.142
  6    27 ms    26 ms    21 ms  peer1-et-2-1-0.telehouse.ukcore.bt.net [62.172.103.25]
  7     *        *        *     Request timed out.
  8    28 ms    30 ms    27 ms  ae2-9.RT.TC2.AMS.NL.retn.net [87.245.233.97]
  9     *        *        *     Request timed out.
 10     *        *        *     Request timed out.
 11     *        *        *     Request timed out.
 12     *        *        *     Request timed out.
 13     *        *        *     Request timed out.
 14     *        *        *     Request timed out.
 15     *        *        *     Request timed out.
 16   333 ms   332 ms   332 ms  27.131.104.114

So it connects.

from the plusnet fibre that doesn't work - It never gets the final hop - it follows the same route, but has an additional timeout at step 3/4 and after step 8 (or for them, step nine) - then just get timeouts.

Issue started yesterday - so its been 24+ hrs now.

?Huh

Re: Issue connecting to remote website

Second factory reset did not fix it.

Turning route off and on didn't fix it.

Turning router off for 20 mins - did fix it! (!)

How long for remains to be seen, but, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhh?
