Is my upload being restricted for some reason ?

I moved from a 40/20 Unlimted service to 80/20 Extra last month. Both were giving me about 13Mbps UP (Ookla Speedtest), it dropped to 11Mbps about 10 days ago, now hovers around 10Mbps. Downlink Speed is a steady 47Mbps at the PC, 48Mbps or so at the socket.

According to distance from Cabinet I'm faster than I ought to be Down and I wouldn't want to change a thing, but the various changes of speed or ratio between Up and Down puzzle me. Broadband is an odd thing, unlike electricity or even water, it is not a predictable service. I guess in the end it's radio waves. Sometimes you can't receive close signals when a distant one comes in quite strongly.

Fix

Doesn't look like we're restricting you.

Currently in sync at 51Mbps Down and 11.4Mbps Up.

Comparing this to the estimates for your line, it seems fine.

Re: Is my upload being restricted for some reason ?

Thanks HarryB, I was curious, it seemed to fit the new BT 50/10 service. I'm very happy with the current service, hoping that it endures! ^-)
