Is my ping high

My broadband seems to be lagging tryed a speed test and getting a ping of 256ms...Is this normal.

256 is too high     how did you test this WIFI or wired ?

Yes I'll do it tomorrow. I had a feeling you would ask this. But it's still high regardless, we browse the Internet on our tablet's and Web pages are lagging .

I was asking because if your network is busy, you would see a raised ping due to buffer bloat.

That said, here is a quick test on my laptop which is using WiFi.

Always best to do tests while A your network is quite and B as mentioned by using an ethernet lead straight into your router.

I've had some strange slowing down of general browsing and have managed to figure out that for me anyway it depends which gateway I'm as to how things are performing etc...

Thanks for that I did a speed test again and it was far better...

What was that speed checker you used.
