Internet drops when Answer machine picks up

As the title says the internet drops out/Hangs when the answer machine picks up, it is otherwise fine when answering the phone normaly, anyone any idea what is causing this?

Is the answer machine connected to the phone socket via a filter?

No, im on fibre so i have one of the new faceplates.

The answerphone is plugged in to that socket though?
Can you plug a single phone into the socket and dial 17070, listen for any noises at all on the line.

Haven't got a corded phone on hand so i cannot do a test at the moment.

Do you have any phone handset available? I'm wondering if the broadband disconnects if you answer the phone too (as really that's all the answerphone is doing).

Yes i have tried that chris, i rang the homephone from my mobile answered it and its fine, its only if the answer machine picks up.

I'm just running a couple of line tests, but it might be the answerphone that's the culprit!

We're not actually seeing these drops either.

The line tests haven't shown any problems at all.
Are you using the openreach modem with our router, or have you replaced them with a different piece of kit?

using the asus n56, maybe its the router thats actually locking/hanging, i have a similar problem with the youtube app on 1 of my 3 devices, it locks the router up.

It might be worth trying the Openreach modem and our router if you can.
That should point out if its the ASUS that's causing the issues.

So having looked at the radius graph to see if there were any PPP drops did you then check the ADSL log to see if he was having loss of sync that resynced quickly enough for the PPP session not to drop?

From testing the customers line there's only been one loss of sync within the past 14 days so the modem does appear to be keeping sync.
