Intermittent internet drops out / Completely Down

Hello
So I am new to PlusNet I was on Virgin Media (which I must admit I never have any problems with Virgin's true Fibre service).
I only ever seem to have issues when using the BT backbone network funny that anyway I digress.
My Internet has been dropping out randomly (more noticeably at weekends) my router (TP Link Archer C9) as I refuse to use the one's ISP's hand out as it means I have to change my firewall settings every 12 months when I change providers.
It was working about an hour ago now there is an orange light on my router and when I log onto it I can see it is not getting assigned an IP address.
I know the phone line works as I was going to phone customer services but its a 30min wait!
Can someone run some fault checks IM me for my account number or what ever you need.
!!It is completely down at the moment I am using the 4G from my mobile!!

Having random connection drops.
Yesterday around midnight I had several disconnections, this morning also the line is very unstable

Yes I realise that however it's not helpful and plus you don't work for plusnet.

Hi Paul,
Your connection doesn't look too good.
My tests aren't identifying the cause of that. If you've tried the checks here I'd recommend reporting the fault to us here.
Your connection looks similar.
My tests are detecting a possible fault on your connection. Mind spending a few minutes and report this to us at http://faults.plus.net please. Let us know once you've done that.

Ok I was kind of put off by the fact that they said if an Engineer comes out and finds no fault I would be charged.
So I decided to put up with it however the situation has not really changed my connect is slow and often drops out latency is a huge issue.
I am not using the standard Plusnet Router I am using a BT Modem and a D Link Router will the engineer still support me?
I just don't want him to come out and just blame my router then charge me..
I have never had a good experience using BT's technology ADSL was never any good neither is Fibre they provide it would seem.

BT don't offer Fibre to the door Virgin do.

Technically its coaxial from the pavement to the front door yes its better than BT which is only Fibre to the cabinet which is if your lucky a mile away then you have to make do with a copper network...

My cabinet is only 175m away.
eta: 90% are within 1km going by the 2nd graph here.
