Interesting developments from BT

There's a very interesting  BT briefing document here
https://www.btwholesale.com/assets/documents/Previous_Events/ISP_Forum/ISP_Forum_3_February_2015_Sli...
In particular:
SoGEA - Naked VDSL finally Smiley
OR Modem - No longer supplied from Jan 16, no longer supported Jan 17
Self install - PN's trial router (TG589) failed some tests
FTTPoD - Temporary hold on sale was due to be removed in March
NoT - Notice of Transfer replaces migrations using MAC on June 20th

Still waiting to hear more on the SOGEA. Fed up of paying for a land line I neither need nor use...

As they've release the Hub One that's not relevant?

OK, *maybe* I shouldn't have just resurrected this post out of the blue. But I got excited Wink

Re: Interesting developments from BT

Not much sign of SoGEA yet but then I never was very excited by it. If it frees up the voice frequencies it won't make much difference to most connections and the price difference will only be a couple of quid.

Re: Interesting developments from BT

Self Service DLM Control is going to be interesting, but I guess the 'self' is going to be the ISP not the End User.

Self-service DLM has nothing to do with FTTC though...

More recently two Technicolor 589 models did get a conditional pass.
SOGEA sounds a long way off, but there is now STIN 517 on http://www.btplc.com/sinet/

Re: Interesting developments from BT

Given that it's SoGEA it presumably needs to be supported by BTw before most ISPs can offer it.
