Installed today FTTC and speed test reporting no better than adsl

I have had my FTTC installed today the openreach guy done a speed test from the modern and it was reporting download of 80 and upload of 20  but when I run a speed test it's showing 3.75 download and 1.5 upload and when trying to play on line games the lag is very bad I know the line will take time to settle but this seems very slow for FTTC  could this be down to the router the openreach guy did say that the router is a pile of c#€p. Shocked

Probably this hasn't updated https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed
However the upstream is still too low - are you checking wired or wireless

Can you try restarting your router (not the BT Modem, the PlusNet router)
It's possible that  your profile has been updated, but not yet in use, needed a router restart.

Your speed profile was updated to the new speed on the 14th, but your modem was last reset on the 13th.  Give them a reboot and you should see your new speeds.

No do not reset the modem that can cause DLM to act and slow your speed down, reset the router only
