Insane packet loss since 29/10/2021 @ 14:00pm

Hello forums,

I recently started having issues all day today regarding packet loss - My connection is stable and I have internet access however every two minutes or so on the dot I will have roughly 3-10 seconds of packet loss consistently. This is causing me all sorts of drama online and has made most of my browsing and entertainment non-existent tonight.

I figured, I'd leave it for a few hours and hope it'll improve by the night time when it comes to playing some games with the lads however thats been entirely ruined, here is a pastedump of a WinMTR to a games server(which is not the only thing I am having this issue with(That includes Discord, other games, twitch, youtube and Spotify))

Any help fixing this issue would be fantastic, I will check again in the morning and follow this post up should anything change however I do not expect any changes to happen over night.

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

Morning crew slight update on the issue;

I noted that my ISP did a forced reset of some sorts around 01:00am while I was still doing some testing and for the most part the issue seems to of resolved itself.

Been doing some more testing this morning while running a WinMTR and here are the results;

It appears the issue is now isolated to the 3rd line, any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Chris, I'm sorry to see you're having issues with your connection.

I've tested your line and the tests aren't showing a problem with the broadband signal going into your router.

From what I can see you've got a desktop PC wired to your router, is that direct using an ethernet cable or through a switch or powerline adapters?

Re: Insane packet loss since 29/10/2021 @ 14:00pm

Hey Gandalf,

The issue has resolved itself from what I can tell. I used the robot text thing last night (Help (+landline number) and that said I had an issue on my line and that an engineer was needed to be booked however my internet did a hard reset (For what reason I have no idea) and the issue appears to of resolved itself.

To answer you're question I am using a direct connection via an ethernet cable to the router, was having the same issue on a secondary computer with a different ethernet and same cable. However the random hard reset the router did last night appears to of cleared up everything.

Hey Chris, thanks for getting back to me.

Ah I'm glad to see things are better now after a reset. Let me know if you have any further issues.

Cheers
