Inernet download speed very poor.

To be honest my cordless phone appeared to die a few weeks ago. I no longer have a house phone. The phone was saying it was not connected. Could this be a clue. I assumed that my phone was faulty so I binned it. Thanks again.

This could potentially affect your broadband speeds should the be a phone fault present. As part of phone troubleshooting steps we'll need you to go ahead with these steps. Ideally you'll need a telephone handset to complete some of these troubleshooting steps.

OK I will get a phone and do the checks and get back to you. Thanks.

Obtained a phone and did the tests. The phone is silent, not even a whisper of sound (with or without adsl filter). That accounts for my old phone not working. Thanks for the advice.

We've been advised there's an open issue in your area which may well be why your phone isn't working.

This has been raised to our suppliers so that they can investigate further and we'll update you as soon as we know more
