Incorrect Line Speed Shown on Plusnet Data Transfer Speed Page

The Plusnet line speed page @  https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=data_transfer_speed shows I'm currently connected at 21Mbps, with no speed estimate on file.

However BT Wholesale speed test shows download speed of 30.34 Mbps with 1.83 Mbps up load @ http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/

My IP profile is 31.32 down  / 2.0 up which figures as I'm on the 40/2 package

How can the Plusnet connection speed page be so inaccurate?

Re: Incorrect Line Speed Shown on Plusnet Data Transfer Speed Page

I can guess the answer

The Plusnet Current Line Speed is supposed to reflect the IP Profile but I would guess it has received a duff number or has updated wrong.

Why is your download speed higher - again this is because of the peculiarity in the system. When the Current Line Speed changes unless there is a drop of PPP session it doesn't actually do anything and keeps using the previous number

To be honest, it shouldn't actually make a difference on your connection. However I believe that it has since updated correctly.
