I have been having issues with a general slow down in my line speed over the last month or so, from what was 37mb d/s and 8mb u/s, to 30mb d/s and 5mb u/s. Plusnet did some testing and asked me to monitor the line and it improved over a couple of weeks and was back to 36mb d/s and 5.5mb u/s, which was better. I have replaced my Hub one router with a modified firmware HG612 for the modem, and a TP link vr900 for wifi and routing. These have improved the connection to 39mb d/s and 7.5mb u/s, which was a result.
Monitoring the line stats it seems that every time we get an incoming telephone call, there is a spike in CRC and FEC errors and a snr dip associated with the errors.
My question is, is it normal, to get interference from incoming phone calls that affect the fiber connection?
