I have an older installation with an Openreach Modem as a bridge to the PN router.
i asked Plusnet for a newer combined modem/router, but was told was going to have to pay for it (not cheap)
so after purchasing a BT HH5 (much cheaper than PN) from eBay and setting it up, I now have significant improvements (no change to incoming wiring or box location)
Download, previous average no more than 65mb. Now 74mb
Upload, previous average no more than 16mb, Now 18.5mb
Ping average 18-20ms. Now 9-10ms
i wonder how many others are deprived of better performance due to inferior kit as provided at install.
With published speed expectations to Joe Public rarely achieved, perhaps the providers are not helping themselves either! Own goal!
