IP Profile

My IP profile is 40.79 according to BT, but my line speed according to Plusnet is 39 - shouldn't they be the same?

Re: IP PROFILE

Plusnet have their own profile which should be slightly lower than BT's.
I'm not sure how much lower it should be but almost 2Mbps looks a bit excessive to me, I guess it's just slow to update.
For comparison this is my profile:
Quote
Actual Sync speed:  24.79Mbps
BT Profile:        23.99 Mbps
PlusNet Profile:    22.8 Mbps
Actual Throughput:  21.93Mbps

Can someone at PN please give the profile script a good kick.

Re: IP PROFILE

@Muttley62,  has your PN profile changed yet?
I notice this morning my PN profile is now 23.8Mbps, the BT profile remaining the same as above.

Re: IP PROFILE

40Mbit is the near we have to your slot, so I've manually changed it for you. The next time you connect is when you'll see a difference (assuming BT's side is still at this rate).

Re: IP Profile

sorry to hijack thread, but my ip profile is set to 48.83 mbps, when i should be getting speeds at roughly at 78 mbps. I used to achieve these speeds, but sounds like profile has been lowered?

Re: IP Profile

Is that the BT IP profile or the Plusnet IP profile?
You can find the BT profile by running the "BT Broadband performance test" then run the "further diagnostics"
http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/
You can find the PN profile ("Current line speed") in the member centre.

If one of the helpful plusnet reps don't pick this up in the forum, you can raise a fault here:

Re: IP Profile

thanks for the help mate, I've raised this with PN and they are looking into it. The person on the technical line the other day said that my line had been capped, and that she was going to raise it again but gave no explanation why and also said there was no problem with the line. On Friday they e-mailed me to say that there may be an issue and will have to wait a few days to hear back from BT.

Re: IP Profile

Good luck with that and please let us all know how things progress.
In my experience it can be annoyingly slow progress, a prod here can often help Wink
