I can only assume we are being throttled?

Third time out for Openreach.

Engineer is getting 60MB download, however when I log on Via Plusnet hub OR Draytek 3762, am getting a max of 25MB and often the upload is faster than the download.

Worst speed is 5MB upload best 3 weeks ago was 50... Have had the cable from the post replaced..

Thought BT/Plusnet didn't throttle?

@labuckland  Welcome to the forums

PlusNet do not throttle, but you might have a stuck profile.

The other possibility is an internal wiring issue.

Are these speeds you are getting via a wired connection or Wi-Fi ? If Wi-Fi you need to test via a wired connection, as Wi-Fi can be subject to local interference.

Re: I can only assume we are being throttled?

@wakeman ,

Thank for the reply..

It's a wired connection, no wifi enabled, new cable between socket & router, new socket plate, only connection to the router is from my desktop (or via a laptop to check it wasn't the desktop - same results)..

Are you able to tell me how I get the profile reset?

TIA

Adam.

Re: I can only assume we are being throttled?

It could also be congestion at the exchange commonly known as hot vlan

Wouldn't that also affect the Engineers readings?

Re: I can only assume we are being throttled?

Not really. My connection used to be stable at 78.meg and never budged. Router in sync at 79.999 but thoughout was dire at about 6meg. When Openreach came out numerous times they just look at sync speed and say nothing is wrong and it's all working fine. it wasnt untill an engineer arrived with some common sense that looked harder into things and noticed that I was connect to a hot vlan. Once he connected me to a different card thoughout improved. I think it's down to engineers and their knowledge.
