I Appear To Be Back On A Very Flaky 40/20 Connection

When I upgraded to fibre a year or so ago I was quite happy with a solid 40/20 connection. Then PN decided to change this to 55/10. I first had a solid 40/10 connection, then PN got their act together and I had a good solid 55/10 connection with which I was again content.

Now the gremlins appear to have got back in and I appear to be back on a very flaky 40/20 service that I am not happy with.

I am running an Unlocked HG612 modem plus an Asus N55u as a Router. As you can see from the these Telnet stats 55/10 should be easily attainable.

Note that speed tests are via Ethernet cable.

Are there any PN staff around that can please have a look at my connection?

I would take the Thinkbroadband stats with a pinch of salt at the moment, they seem to be very strange - try an speedtest.net and see how it shows on there.

Your sync speeds seem very good, and not limited to 40/20. Might also be worth having a look on the BT Wholesale test site, and see what it shows, it will have the limits on there.

This does seem quite strange, your account is showing that the speed was updated by a Delta Report from 55Mbps to 40Mbps.

I've now manually changed this back, so if you disconnect the router, reconnect and then test again, you should be seeing the 55Mbps speeds as expected.
